All fourteen functions of proteins in body :
-Structural functions: protein found in all cells and in every part of the cells. .eg.collagen,eastin and keratin.
-Mechanical functions: a)elastin and keratin of hair, skin, nails and hoofs.
b)collagen in bone, acts like steel cables in reinforcd concrete.
-Nearly all enzymes except RNA splicing enzyme.
- Most hormones are proteins or poly peptide as GH and Insulin.
-Receptors.
-Channels and pores .
-Contractile proteins eg. myosin and actin.
-Propulsion of sperm by their flagella.
-Transport proteins : Hb,Mb,Transferrin and Ceruloplasmin.
-Storage proteins: casein and ferritin.
-Protective proteins: Antibodies and fibrinogen.
-Gene regulators.
